From Summer to Fall in One Outfit

The best time of the year is upon us and it is time to start transitioning our wardrobes. Summer to Fall transitioning can be tricky because you’re never really sure what the weather may have in store. One day it feels like summer, the next you’re certain that it just might snow. But have no fear! Today I am going to show you one of my favorite Summer to Fall outfits that is sure to suit any occasion (and weather condition) you encounter!

When choosing my Summer to Fall wardrobe, the first thing I look for is the right material. Now is the time to really invest in some fantastic knitwear. Why? Because knitwear is the most versatile clothing you can find! You can get a chunky wool for those colder days, or a loosely knit sweater that’s much more breathable. Jersey knits are especially fantastic as they make for great bases for layering. So, my first piece of advice, GO FOR THE KNITS!

The next thing to keep in mind is layering. I always recommend doing a sleeveless top as the base at the beginning of the Fall season. This is because you are never really sure what the weather will have in store. It could be cool in the morning and then back up in the 70s and 80s by midday. And it is THE WORST to be sweating underneath whatever you are wearing and there is nothing you can do about it.

Finally, stick to the neutrals. When you think of Fall, don’t you think about the colors of the leaves; the browns, oranges, yellows, and reds of October and November? So, why not compliment these tones with Blacks, whites, nudes, and reds? Not only will you feel more festive, you’re bound to take some really fantastic photographs with the scenic natural backgrounds!
